In reliving some childhood memories at an awesome “amusement park” in the city of Abuja, Nigeria, I became a child all over again😊
Hello blog readers and followers! Good day and welcome back to my safest space on the internet. I sincerely apologize for not showing up here as often as I promised to…
I had no idea my hosting was scheduled for expiry on the 6th! Like how the hell did a year go by so fast…Anyways, it has been renewed! All thanks to my web designer-Ken
So without further ado, let’s get right into the business of today. About a week ago, I planned a visit to Wonderland Amusement Park, Abuja, popularly called “Magicland” with my husband and not-so-little brother.
A little back story…
Ever since I got to Abuja sometime in October-last year, my husband and some of his friends wouldn’t stop talking about Magicland and what a fun place it is. I guess that stirred up my curiosity to visit as soon as possible.
We tried to visit the amusement park in December as part of our Christmas activity, but it was closed (COVID-19 related).
Now fast forward to February, 2021, we heard they were back in business and decided to visit on the 3rd. We went in high hopes and had our hearts broken on arrival. As we were made to understand that they only open three days a week- Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
And that day being a Wednesday, only meant one thing- NO ACCESS INTO MAGICLAND. We went home and concluded to visit again that Friday.
My Childhood Memories…
I was born and bred in Ibadan. And If you’re very familiar with that city, you would definitely know that there’s only one amusement park there- Trans Amusement Park (which has been dead and desolate for the longest…)
I think I visited that park a few times as a teenager- all the machines were working perfectly and the place was always full of life at the time… Same cannot be said of Trans Amusement Park right now!
So visiting another amusement park in an entirely different city after so many years, was quite a big deal for me. It meant I would be reliving my childhood memories!
I guess I would be dropping my pen here! Do stick around to find out if I still visited Magicland after two failed attempts.
The concluding part of my experience in reliving some childhood memories at a park would be in my next post (scheduled to go up on Saturday or Sunday )
Ever visited an amusement park? How was your experience like?
