This post is all about how I fell in love with a Nigerian skincare brand||Ologe. Ologe is an artisan natural skincare brand based in Lagos, Nigeria, that is concerned with providing simple, but effective solutions for oily and combination skin.
This does not mean other skin types can’t benefit from their wide product range….
I started using Ologe skincare products in November, 2020 after reading so many reviews about their products from a few of my favorite influencers on Instagram.
I must confess, I do not regret taking the decision to try out their products…
You can watch the unboxing video of the products I ordered from Ologe right here on my Instagram page
And that’s how I fell in love with a Nigerian skincare brand||Ologe. It was love at first sight😁
Now fast forward to February, 2021 when the brand owner Seun O Young reached out to me for a collaboration, I just had to jump on it ( because I have tried the brand before and they know their onions). #testedandtrusted
The brand sent me a whole box of their skincare products which include:
- Facial cleanser
- Brightening toner
- Adunni oil
- Body scrub
- Soothing dew
- Rose oil blend
Ologe Skincare Product Review
So let’s get right into the product review! What do I think of the Ologe skincare brand? Keep reading to find out…
The Ologe Facial cleanser
About the product: the Ologe facial cleanser is a non-stripping creamy cleanser that leaves the face clean, but doesn’t strip it of it’s natural oils.
Ingredients: Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower seed) oil, Salix Nigra (willow) bark extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Optiphen Plus, Rosmarinus Officinalis (rosemary) oil, Citric Acid.
How to use: pump out desired amount, lather and massage onto damp skin for 30-60 seconds, then rinse off with water.
Packaging: the Ologe facial cleanser comes in a plastic see-through 100ml pump bottle which makes for easy dispense.
My thoughts: unlike other facial cleansers that leave your face dry, this one from Ologe doesn’t do that as a result of it’s creamy texture. So I would totally recommend it!
Ologe Brightening Toner
About the product: the Ologe brightening toner is an exfoliating and hydrating toner that is suitable for oily, acne prone skin types.
Ingredients: Aqua, Propanediol, Camelia Simensis Extract, 1,2,3- Propanetriol & Aqua, Polysorbate 20, Gluconolactone, Glycolic Acid, Citric Acid, Malic Acid & Phenoxyethanol, Optiphen Plus (Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid), Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Phytate, Melaleuca Alternafolia (Tea Tree) leaf oil.
Packaging: the brightening toner comes in a plastic see-through 100ml spray bottle which makes for easy/controlled dispense.
My thoughts: it is super hydrating and helps to clear the pores, while reducing breakouts and improving your skin complexion.
Ologe Adunni Oil
About the product: the Ologe Adunni oil blend is a moisturizing oil that is perfect for all skin types and hair (talk about multipurpose). It also revitalizes dull skin.
Ingredients: Helionthus Annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Chamomile, Lavandula Angustifolia (lavender) oil, Boswellia Cartwright (frankincense) oil, Cymbopogon Martini (Palmarosa) oil.
Packaging: the Ologe Adunni oil blend comes in a plastic see-through 100ml pump bottle.
My thoughts: it is very lightweight, not sticky and so, it doesn’t sit heavy on the skin.
Ologe Body Scrub
About the product: the Ologe body scrub is a moisturizing body scrub with sugar as it’s base.
Ingredients: Sucrose, Sunflower oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Kaolin Clay, Papain Enzyme, Vitamin C, Lavender buds, Lavender essential oil.
Packaging: the Ologe body scrub comes in a plastic see-through 250g cup with a lid. Although, I feel there should be a seal on the cup before the lid is placed ( because most of the oil leaked away while the package was being transported).
My thoughts: it removes dead skin cells and reveals an ultra smooth, supple and radiant skin.
Ologe Soothing Dew
About the product: the Ologe soothing dew is an hydrating and skin soothing serum with hyaluronic acid and bisabolol.
Ingredients: Water, Hyaluronic Acid, Cucumber Extract, Bisabolol, Optiphen Plus, 1,3- Propanediol, Gluconoactone, Polysorbate 20, Allantoin.
Packaging: the Ologe soothing dew comes in a 30ml see-through bottle with a dropper for controlled usage.
My thoughts: it is super hydrating and moisturizing as it gives your skin a boost of hydration. It also repairs damaged skin and calms inflammation.
Ologe Rose Oil Blend
About the product: the Ologe rose oil blend is a lightweight moisturizing facial oil with Vitamin C to even out your skin tone, and Squalane for supple moisturized skin.
Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Squalane, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Boswellia Carterii (frankincense) oil, Rose Damascene (rose) petal.
Packaging: the Ologe rose oil blend comes in a 30ml see-through bottle with a dropper for controlled usage.
My thoughts: it is super lightweight, melts so well into the skin and with the infusion of Vitamin C and some rose petals, it smells so good. Also, a little goes a long way and it leaves your skin well moisturized.
The Ologe rose oil blend has to be my favorite from the Ologe skincare product range.
I absolutely love all the products from the Ologe brand and as I mentioned earlier, my fave is the rose oil blend. I also appreciate the brand for paying close attention to details (their packaging is top notch and I commend them for that.
Also, the fact that ‘ingredients and how-to-use’ is listed on each product, is quite impressive.
Before my products arrived, the brand already sent me a personalized skincare routine chart and instruction manual. And I must confess, this isn’t something a lot of Nigerian brands do. So, I must commend them for this.
Also, there has been a whole lot of improvement in my skin texture. My skin tone is even and my hyperpigmentation are fading away slowly.
So, if you’re looking for a very effective and affordable Nigerian skincare brand to try, you should definitely consider Ologe
